MOTIVATION OF LABOUR ACTIVITY: CROSS-CULTURAL PECULIARITIES AND THEIR MANIFESTATION IN THE SYSTEM OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC RELATIONSHIPS

Modern globalization and integration processes, and as a consequence the increasing level of the national economies interdependence, contribute to the actualization of issues of not only the content of coordination of national systems of socio-economic relations, but also the content of mechanisms of state management of labour resources’ development. The difficulty of solving these issues is due, on the one hand, to the existence of contradictions, both at the level of religious and cultural doctrines interested in using the potential of integration into the world’s unity of countries, and in sphere of traditions of functioning of national socio-economic systems, and on the other hand it lies in the existing peculiarities (differences) in the perception of social objects of the place and role of some of the determinants in ensuring the further development of person, state and society Among such determinants are also positioned those of them whose nature is related to human actions to meet their needs in employment. The consideration of such needs by the national government, as well as the motives associated with them, is increasingly being considered at the level of one of the conditions for increasing the effect of the impact of the country’s integration into world political and economic institutions. Considering the great importance of integration processes for Ukraine and the resulting need to adapt the national state policy to the requirements of Euro-Atlantic political and economic institutions, the issues of cross-cultural characteristics, including in the context of the formation of human labour opportunities, are socially-politically and socio-economically significant.
The clarification of cross-cultural features through the prism of the problematics of work motivation was carried out within the author’s study «Assessment of the level of development of the individual’s labour potential». According to the research program, respondents from Ukraine, Latvia and Finland were surveyed. Partners in the research organization in the European Union were the Department of Management of the Institute of Transport and Communications (Riga, Latvia) and the Department of Industrial Management of the University of Applied Sciences Savonia (Varkaus, Finland). The focus of the attention of the questions proposed in the content of the questionnaire was focused on finding out: obstacles that prevent a person from using his or her available work potential; the power of the impact of qualitative characteristics of labour potential on its overall level; distribution of shares of responsibility between the person, the organization and the state for efficiency of person’s labour potential formation. According to the results of the analysis of respondents’ answers, the place and role of cross-cultural peculiarities of work motivation in the system of human value orientations were clarified, as well as the directions of influence of certain religious and cultural doctrines on the effectiveness of the work motivation system.
